Cycle description:
First 8 km the road goes along with the rivers Sava and Ljubljanica to Zalog. Most of the route than runs along cycle paths to the centre of Ljubljana. In the centre it takes 2 hours for the walking tour of Ljubljana. On our way back to Dolsko, there is still 15 km of flat road.
Grade: Easy – mostly flat.
Starting point is in Dolsko in front of the Inn Vegov hram where we have a leisurely start before setting off towards the capital Ljubljana. The walking tour of Ljubljana begins at the Slovenian Tourist Information Centre, where we will lock our bicycles. Our tourist guide will get to know us with the unique character of "Stara Ljubljana" (Ljubljana Old Town), where distinct Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture combines with masterly creations by the 20th century architect Jože Plečnik. At the end of the tour we will take a break and go to eat and enjoy in one of many excellent restaurants in Ljubljana.
