We will start our trip driving into the heart of Kamnik–Savinja Alps to Ušivec (1400 m). Here we start our easy walk through beautiful green pastures, surrounded with pine trees and over 2000 m alpine peaks.
After one hour of pleasant walk we arrive near the little mountain chapel, which is named after St. Mary the Snow (1550 m). We visit the oldest herdsmen's cottage in Europe and you will discover many interesting details about the little lakes,
flowers and herbs, architectural monuments and local history. After spending some time in the herdsmen's settlement enjoying the simple way of the herdsmen's life, we taste their dairy products and admire the unique architecture of the cottages which define Velika planina meadow.
